THE AVENUE MAGAZINE

ISSUE 23: BRAVADO

ROLE // ASSOCIATE DESIGN DIRECTOR

As Associate Design Director I worked with the Design Director and Co-Associate Design Director to develop the design direction including typography, color palette, layout, style guide and sequence. Together we led the design team, holding weekly critiques to discuss and improve each spread. Working cross-functionally with the Creative Directors and photo team, we ensured visual consistency throughout the issue and its promotional materials.

This past year I worked on the creative team for The Avenue, Northeastern’s fashion and culture magazine. Each issue centers on a single word, collaboratively defined by the editorial and creative teams through articles on culture, fashion, and lifestyle, accompanied by original photoshoots and editorial artwork.

Our most recent issue, BRAVADO, focuses on ambitious boldness, swagger, and overconfidence laden with foolishness and presumption. Covering topics like Boston’s local drag scene to the harsh realities of the fine dining industry, BRAVADO offers a multifaceted exploration of confidence, self-expression, and ambition.
